Premium routes
Griesbacher Wiesensteig
On the almost 11 km premium trail “Griesbacher Wiesensteig” you can experience the very varied landscape of the upper Rench valley in the middle of the Black Forest: A narrow path leads along the wild and romantic “Wilde Rench”, it goes over secluded meadow paths, but from time to time also on wider hiking trails through sparse spruce forests.
Culinary good: You can linger in two inns and during a stop at the schnapps, wine, beer and mineral water fountain at the “Wilde Rench” house. This is another reason why the Wiesensteig has been awarded the title of “Black Forest Gourmet Trail”.
Teufelskanzelsteig
Magnificent views, impressive rock formations and hidden places of power, a waterfall in pristine nature – there is a lot to discover on this almost 7-kilometer-long tour.
From the summer ski jump, the route goes to the Griesbach waterfall, which cascades over the boulders. The first climb must be conquered on moss-covered stone steps along the waterfall. And the next few kilometers continue uphill, past the Sexauer Hut, over adventurous paths and stairs to the Teufelskanzel, a large rock formation on the way.
Himmelssteig
Challenging, scenic and enjoyable – these are the characteristics that characterize the approximately 11-kilometer-long Himmelssteig. The trail alternates between moss, grass and root paths through and past dense fir and mixed forests.
A unique path profile that gives you the feeling of walking on clouds. You can enjoy a wonderful view from the 22.5 meter long silver fir bench. The lovingly designed drinks stations and the many sky benches invite you to take a short break. The Himmelssteig starts at the outdoor pool in Bad Peterstal. From there it goes up to the Himmelsbar.
Other award-winning paths
Peterstaler Schwarzwaldsteig
On the Peterstaler Schwarzwaldsteig, which is designated as a premium trail and a Black Forest gourmet trail, the central Black Forest reveals its tranquil side. You pass through an idyllic meadow valley with farms and pastures, sparse beech groves and coniferous forests, and picturesque orchards.
The tour is a good 11 km long. A plus point of all Black Forest gourmet trails: There are mineral water and schnapps fountains, comfortable sky loungers and places to stop for a bite to eat along the way.
Renchtalsteig
The Renchtalsteig has succeeded in combining the characteristic and unique landscapes of the central and northern Black Forest in five stages.
Landscapes such as the vineyards near Oberkirch, the Grinden in the Alexanderschanze area, Zuflucht and Schliffkopf at around 1000 meters above sea level, wide open plateaus, legendary rock faces, pulpits, springs, waterfalls, a cirque lake make the Renchtalsteig a very varied long-distance hiking trail.
The Renchtalsteig is divided into 5 stages. Access and exit are easily possible from any location in the Renchtal.
"Panoramawegle" - Bad Peterstal-Griesbach
A gentle up and down and beautiful views await you on this walking trail. The Panoramawegle winds its way around Bad Griesbach for almost four kilometers. It starts in the car park opposite the St. Antonius church in the center of town.
The Westweg
The Westweg was established by the Black Forest Association in 1900 as the first long-distance hiking trail.
At around 285 kilometers, it is the longest of the three Black Forest long-distance trails. In 2007, it was adapted to the needs of modern hikers, partially relocated and designed as a quality trail called “Wanderbares Deutschland”.
The Westweg is one of the “Top Trails of Germany”. It begins in Pforzheim in the north of the Black Forest and splits into a western and an eastern route at Titisee. Both end in Basel, where Switzerland, France and Germany meet.
High mountains, deep cascading water. Nowhere else does it go as far up as in the Black Forest.
You can find out more information about the individual stages here.
